Job Description

About this opportunity

Our Auckland site provides garbage bin repairs, deliveries and recoveries in our fleet of Class 1 vehicles. We use electronic hand held devices which design routes efficiently,

and capture data of jobs completed in real time. This role is Auckland based,

however, will require travel to other cities to assist in short-term projects in other contracts.

 

Main Accountabilities

  • Servicing our clients needs as prescribed by daily job sheets.
  • Managing and executing deliveries efficiently and with minimal supervision.
  • Safely undertaking job tasks following standard operating procedures.
  • Following loading, warehousing and supervisory tasks as prescribed by the site manager.
  • Have capacity to provide short-term support for other contracts.

 

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

Mandatory

  • Experience with work health & safety work practices
  • Reliability & honesty with the capacity and commitment to working full-time hours.
  • Proven experience in a manual work across a range of backgrounds.
  • Experience or capacity to work with hand held electronic devices.
  • Drivers Licence with a good driving record

 

We are not looking for specific delivery driving experience (outside of a valid Class 1 license) but we do need a proven capability to

work efficiently & reliably in a manual handling context.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum educational experience is Year 13.
  • Valid class 1 drivers license.

Additional Information

New Zealand working rights are essential

Hours are Monday to Friday – 6.30am-3.00pm

Responsible for providing assistance to Van Salesman for the delivery of merchandise to the outlets; includes loading and unloading of products to and from the truck. Ensures preventive

maintenance of assigned vehicle before the start of selling operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Sales Delivery Routine
  • Drives the Van truck to stores/outlets, in view of the Master Coverage Plan (MCP). Ensures safe carriage and delivery of the products.

 

  • Responsible in picking and delivery of stocks based on SFA invoice slips given by the salesman.
  • Assist the Van salesman in trade development and full coverage of the Master Coverage Plan (MCP).
  • Assist the Van salesman in the preparation of the daily sales report.
2. Inventory Management
  • Receives the stocks from the warehouse and validate with the STS.
  • Checks and loads stocks to the truck based on the approved computer generated Stock Transfer Slip (STS).

 

  • Picks and sorts the stocks based on SFA generated sales invoice and delivers all stocks ordered by the customers.
  • Pulls out or receives all bad orders from the outlet based on generated SFA credit note by the Salesman.
  • Maintain Truck Inventory Loading Plan as basis for STS request.

 

  • Conduct inventory pre-count every after selling day or before inventory count.
  • Conducts weekly or as scheduled inventory count of stocks in the truck.
  • Ensures stocks are safe and secured at all times.
  • Checks and monitor stocks, SKUs, and ensures FEFO management is followed.

 

  • Checks and monitors products during loading to truck to ensure quality of the goods delivered to the outlets.
3. Vehicle Unit Management
  • Performs preventive maintenance to assigned vehicle before delivery operations by adhering to BLOWFAST (Battery, Lights, Oil, Water, Fuel, Air, Steering Wheel, Tires) checklist.

 

  • Ensures that assigned vehicle tools is properly maintained and exclusively used for the assigned vehicle.
  • Maintains Good Warehousing Practice (GWP) inside the van truck, including, but not limited to prevention of infestation, foul odors, and water leaks.

 

  • Coordinates with Sales Supervisor, Engineering Supervisor & Mechanic in any truck mechanical problems and road accident.

a. Stocks Inventory – 100% accountable for stocks shortages.

b. Vehicle – Ensures that assigned vehicle is properly maintained and in good running condition.

Job Summary: Drives bus and performs related duties to assist senior citizens in the full participation of senior center and city sponsored activities.

Supervision Received: Receives general supervision from the Senior Center Transportation Coordinator. Follows scheduled route.

Supervision Exercised: None.

Examples of Essential Duties:

1. Drives assigned trips to transport senior citizens to medical/*personal appointments, grocery shopping,* special events, the Senior Center, and other destinations as assigned.

2. Assists passengers in boarding and leaving vehicle. May move special equipment, such as medical devices, walkers, wheel chairs, and bundles.

Minimum Qualifications Required: Graduation from high school and one year experience in operating a public service vehicle.

License or Certificate: Connecticut Public Service/Passenger Endorsement “F” Driver’s License required, Connecticut Public Service/Passenger Endorsement “A” Driver’s License. Preferred. License Endorsements are REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION

Physical Exertion/ Environmental Conditions: Physical ability to assist passengers, ability to lift and carry light to medium weight packages and bundles, ability to drive in inclement conditions, ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including cold, heat, rain or snow, exposure to hazards of highway driving, must exercise extreme caution in carrying out responsibilities.

PASSING GRADE: The minimum passing grade is 70%.

RULE OF THE LIST: Names of all eligible candidates on the open competitive employment list will be forwarded to the appointing authority for employment consideration.

DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT LIST: A certified employment list shall be in effect for one year from the date of its establishment by the Civil Service Commission. Subsequent to the initial certification of the employment list, no sooner than l0 months and no later than 11 months and 29 days from date of initial certification, the Commission may, upon the showing and finding of exigent or extenuating circumstances, extend the duration of the list when it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The City, or any individual, may request that consideration of extension be placed on the Civil Service regular meeting agenda by notifying the Personnel Director no later than one calendar week prior to the monthly meeting. The maximum period of time that a list shall remain in effect is two years from date of initial certification.

 

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: Prior to beginning work, the successful candidate must complete and qualify on a City medical examination (including a drug screen) and a background investigation.

Documentation Skills:
