What Does a School Bus Driver Do?

A school bus driver’s primary responsibility is to transport children to and from school safely. But the job entails much more:

-Conducting daily inspections of the bus to ensure safety and maintenance.

Navigating set routes and schedules, following all traffic regulations.

Managing student behavior  during transit and reporting any significant incidents.

Assisting students with getting on and off the bus as needed.

About the role: School Bus Drivers are an integral part of the community, transporting the next generation of leaders.We are looking for School Bus Drivers to cover morning and afternoon school runs and charters, in Taupo, Monday to Friday during the school term.To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Passenger Endorsement and Class 2 licence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive outlook
  • A high regard for health and safety
  • The ability to help carry out the new cleaning regulations is essential
  • The ability to pass a background and police check
